Psychologically We Are All The Same

For many of years, the world has dealt with many racism discriminations. As humans, we discriminate people by race, ethnicity, skin colors, and size. In the United States we discriminate people by skin color. When our current President Barak Obama was elected President some people gave up on discriminating others by color of skin because Obama is half white and half black but his skin color is black. Previously, we always had white skin color Presidents and as American citizens we still elected Obama aside of his skin color. It proves that we set aside discrimination for what is right and will give our country a safe environment. For others to not discriminate and have solution for hate crimes, we need to prove people can get along without knowing others race, ethnicity, and skin colors. [THESIS] Having people behind computers or talking on a phone with a voice changer will help solve hate crimes and show others we are all alike despite skin color, race, and ethnicities. [THESIS]

Daily we deal with hate crimes even if we don’t know it. People will discriminate others for being a certain race like the Jews leading to the Holocaust. Holocaust is a history of discriminations in the world. In the 20th century we still deal with similar problems, just like in the article “Cornell Student is Accused of Hate Crimes in Stabbing” where the a 20 year old white student named Nathan H. Poffenbarger, drank some alcohol before attending a fraternity party and he made some direct remarks during the pledge. It was stated that “8 to 25 years; three counts of assault in the second degree as a hate crime; and tampering with evidence.” Due to Poffenbarger’s discrimination he caused hate crimes to stab someone that had a different skin color. This type of incident doesn’t just happen once or twice, it happens every single day. We deal with people causing hate crimes

In another article, Bias Crimes Found in All Areas of City, there was a quote “In the University District, two white men yell, “Look at the chinks!” from a balcony and spit at two young Asian Americans.” That quote showed we have hate crimes in different states, countries and even in your neighborhood. From a movie I watched called Hotel Rwanda, they were literally all African Americans but they were separated by Tutsi and Hutus. The innocent Tutsi were killed just because they weren’t a Hutu. This is an example of hate crimes between what is almost considered the same skin color and came from the same race. Hate crime can happen between anyone.

When we have so much hate crimes. Having people talking to others behind phones with a voice changer or behind a computer helps lower the rate of discriminations. Others aren’t able to see how the person on the opposite line looks like through a phone and will make them care less of their race and what color their skin is. When they start to talk more on the phone people are able to get to know the person more. When behind a computer you are able to use the technology of finding a different picture that looks like you but showing yourself as a different skin color. In technology now, we have Photoshop to change the way we look like plastic surgery.

At times the computer or phone won’t work to hate crimes because when one person wants to hang out with the opposite end person, the lie will be revealed. Unless plastic surgery is done they will see that the person is not white or not the race they said they were. When the other person finds out they might cause a hate crime to stab or beat that person up because of his skin color lie. Hate crime are worse when someone already doesn’t like a certain race and when they find out that they had lie to them it causes more problems.

From my personal experience, I say I hate Micronesians which is over populated in Hawaii especially Honolulu. I have had thoughts of wishing they didn’t exist in this world or not being surrounded by them. The things that I see Micronesians do, I can’t give them the benefit of the doubt because from my view I see they take the governments money, high school drop outs and their lazy. What I really don’t know if it’s really true. Last semester in my Eng 209 class, I met this Micronesian girl who I thought was really smart. She proved to me that not all Micronesians are the type I thought.

In conclusion, we shouldn’t cause hate crimes even if we don’t like that person for their skin color. We really don’t know how they truly are inside. We should all accept others for being different. As time passes we all have to deal with the same things over again but we want to prevent ourselves to killing others. Hate crimes can’t be fully stopped but we can try to lessen the problems.
